Week of March 14th – 20th, 2021

Results: 28 pips gained this week (goal not achieved)

Lessons: Expand your field of view and wait.

At the end of the NY session Thursday morning 41 pips were gained. I felt compelled to trade Friday to finish off the week with a few more pips. The start of the Asian session started long in GBP/USD, so my idea was to enter in a short position as the market would likely grab liquidity from the previous day’s upward movement. That didn’t happen.

Revisiting my charts last night, it’s now clear why Friday continued higher. Had I looked at the bigger picture, prior to entering said trade, at least 50 additional pips were up for grabs.

Next Steps: If you’ve been following each week, I’m glad you’re here. Up next, I’ll create an 8-Week Challenge Wrap up. This is where I’ll share with you, in greater detail, my process and where these posts are headed.
